Understanding the Rewards Credit Card

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Today, you will see all types of rewards credit card offers, which at one time were only for the loyal customers of a credit card company. They would offer rewards to customers that used their credit card frequently, paid off their balance, and never had late payments. Today, there are many different types of rewards credit cards, offered up by many of the major credit card companies who are all fighting for your business. Since there are so many credit card companies, they have to come up with some type of gimmick to get you to look at what they have to offer.

Credit card rewards can be a great deal for any consumer who enjoys receiving prizes, cash back, or even trips with points they accumulate by using their credit card. However, if you do not redeem your points they can expire.

The different types of reward credit cards are air miles, cash back, prizes, or a new one on the market known as experience rewards.

An air miles card (sometimes referred to as an airline rewards credit card) allows you to air mile points for every dollar or two dollars that you spend with your rewards credit card. These air miles can be redeemed for airline tickets, hotel accommodations, and car rentals. If you are a frequent flyer, then this type of rewards credit card could give you a wonderful vacation for your entire family. You can also find this type of card with your favorite airline or many of the major credit card issuers. Just be careful to pay attention to the expiration of your points, the destinations the airlines allow you to travel to as well as the various airlines that you can redeem your earned miles on.

The cash back rewards credit card normally gives a percentage back on what you spend at certain stores. This can be awarded either monthly or yearly and usually does not have an expiration date.

The Experience rewards credit card allows you to choose the reward you would like. All you have to do is talk with the concierge and let them know what reward you would like and then they can let you know how many points you will need to be able to obtain that reward.

The problem with every rewards credit card is that they normally have higher interest rates as well as higher annual fees or membership fees than a regular credit card would have. You must be sure that the rewards credit card you choose will really be beneficial to you. If you only fly once or twice a year then a rewards credit card that awards airline tickets, etc… should not be your first choice. By the time, you have accumulated enough points for that trip; your points will have already expired. The same goes for all types of reward credit cards; learn what you can earn and if you will be able to redeem those awards before the expiration date. Then you will really be able to benefit substantially.

BUILDING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Probably the most intimidating part of building your own house is the permit process. Not only do the the requirements vary from township to township, but at times the decisions made seem so subjective that we find ourselves seething in frustration. However, permits and inspections are a necessary step, and they are in place predominately for your protection. Ask any earthquake victim in Iran. Because I am concerned here with new construction, I won’t go into the permits required for renovation; that’s another story.

In a new development, the buyer usually doesn’t have to think about permits; the builder takes care of all the details. With independent projects, you may end up engaging a contractor who hires all the sub-contractors and takes care of the permits. This makes life infinitely easier for the buyer, but you’ll pay for that convenience. In rural areas, because township officials are usually volunteers, they tend to work only one or two hours a week, and often after five o’clock. If you miss their time, you’ll probably have to wait another week. This could run your builder ragged and cause unwelcome delays.

If you decide to get the permits yourself, the first thing you want to do is go to the township office and acquire their Code Requirements for Single Family Dwellings, and also their Building Permit Requirement Checklist (or whatever they call these documents). The Code Requirements will cover everything from smoke detectors to egress windows, from stair requirements to insulation, from foundations to chimneys and anything in between. It wouldn’t hurt to send a copy to your log home manufacturer, just in case. The Building Permit checklist, though more simply worded, will be the most important document to familiarize yourself with. If even one of these items are unchecked, you won’t get that permit that day!

Once you start the process, you come to realize that the Construction Permit is the most important, the most sought-after, the most critical objective in your immediate scope. Without it, you cannot even break ground. Since everything ties together, the township wants to make sure you have your “ducks in a row” before they “permit” you to start. There will usually be a one-year time limit to the permit, or a six-month time limit if construction is stopped in the middle. You should budget about $1500-$2000 for your average building permit, unless there unusual circumstances attached to your project (wetlands delineation, variances, etc.).

Because every township is different, I’ll limit myself to my own building project, which took place in rural NJ. We chose to sign up as Homeowner Builder, which the owners can opt to do if they are going to live in their own house. We were technically responsible for getting the permits and the subs (although we hired a contractor who hired most of the subs for us). This meant that we had to climb a steep learning curve to understand all the components of the project.

Here is what we had to acquire to qualify for the building permit:

TAX CERTIFICATION: This document came from the township, and verified that not only did we own this piece of land, we were up to date with our property tax payments.

TWO SETS OF SEALED BUILDING PLANS: We learned very quickly how important this was. What they wanted was an Architect’s or Building Engineer’s stamp on the plans that came from the log home manufacturer. Do not assume that the plans will come pre-stamped. Not all manufacturers have the ability to apply a seal from every state. Our plans were not sealed, and we had to scramble around and find someone willing to stamp someone else’s plans. This is not an easy task, because most architects do not want to take on that responsibility. This snag set our project back two months.

Included in the building plan will probably be a separate foundation plan, since most log homes do not provide a foundation as part of the building. If there is a separate foundation plan, it too will need to be stamped by a qualified engineer or architect.

SIGNED, SEALED ELECTRIC PERMIT APPLICATION: Don’t expect the log home manufacturer to provide electrical drawings. Once you hire an electrician, you’ll have to sit down with him and determine where you are putting your outlets, light switches and fixtures. Local code will determine how close together your outlets will go. Do yourself a favor and put in many more outlets than you think you will need; retrofitting could be unsightly. Also, plan on twice as many light fixtures than a standard home – wood sucks up light like a sponge. While you are at it, it helps to include your cable wires, phone wires and CAT5 in every room, even though you may not think you’ll need it. Once you move into the house, you may change a room’s usage from your original conception – we did, and regretted our shortsightedness.

SIGNED, SEALED PLUMBING PERMIT APPLICATION: This is another set of drawings that will not come from the log home manufacturer. You and the plumber must figure out where the fixtures are going, and if you live in the country remember that the plumbing needs to hook into your septic. (This permit is separate from the septic design permit).

APPROVED COUNTY SEPTIC DESIGN: The septic design came from the local civil engineer. The permit application came from the township, but the septic approval came from the county.

HVAC DIAGRAM showing where your ductwork is going.

DRIVEWAY PERMIT: In our case, this came from the Director of Public Works. We had to make provision for a pipe to be installed beneath a 24′ paved apron at the end of the driveway. This allowed the water runoff unimpeded access to the stream down the block.

STATE WELL PERMIT and TOWNSHIP WELL PERMIT if you are digging your own well. If there is a drought going on, they might put a hold on new well permits, which will put a hold on the whole project. So get it as quickly as possible.

PLOT PLAN AND ZONING APPROVAL: the Plot Plan will come from the local civil engineer. This is not the same as a survey, which will be required by the mortgage company. The plot plan shows the location of the house, driveway, well and septic as well as the perimeter of the building envelope.

WATER TABLE INVESTIGATION REPORT: this will help you determine whether you can dig a basement, or do you need to raise the house up?

These are the big ones. You might have local wetland delineation issues, easements, or setbacks to worry about. Once you get that Construction Permit, treat yourself to a celebratory dinner. You’ll have earned it!

The Construction Permit needs to be prominently displayed on the job site. You also need to keep one of those sealed sets of building plans on site at all times, just in case you get a surprise visit from an inspector. Hopefully by now you will have made friends with the township inspector, because he’s going to have a big say in the ease or difficulty of your project. The inspections are all spelled out and will be required at each step in the process before you can move on. This could cause a delay of one to several days (not counting bad weather), so think ahead – but not too far ahead. The first inspection will come pretty quick. When your excavator digs the hole for your foundation, thetownship may inspect the bottom of the footing trenches before placement of footings. If you are using a Superior Walls precast foundation system, there will be no footings so this inspection will be unnecessary. However, the footings for your deck and porches will need to be inspected.

There will be a foundation inspection before the backfill is shoveled in. The big inspection will be the framing inspection. This must be done before the insulation is added. Then, there will be an inspection for the plumbing, the electrical panel and wiring, the septic or sewer service, then insulation. At the end of the project, there will be a final inspection before issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy; the inspector will look at the finishing work, the smoke detectors, fixtures, etc. There may be other inspections in between, depending on the township.

Unless you are acting as your own general contractor, inspections should not concern you, except that if something fails the whole project grinds to a halt. If you are the Homeowner Builder, you will probably be arranging the inspections yourself, and it helps to know what the township is looking for.

Spanish Prepositions “Por and Para” – The Easy Way to Use Them Perfectly

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

When it comes to mastering the uses of POR and PARA in Spanish, there is a very simple, yet powerful approach that can help you in 95 to 98% of the cases and even more.

Rather than teaching all the uses of POR and PARA as all teachers do, I prefer to narrow down my teaching. Does that mean I am teaching “less” than I should? I don’t think so.

After all, my experience has clearly shown me that students are presented with so many rules, patterns and uses that they are not able to use them well in most cases. What do I do? I cut to the chase as I am going to show you.

When do we use PARA?

1. To express PURPOSE: Any time that in English you can use “in order to,” in Spanish you must use PARA.

I work to make money (or.. in order to make money)

Trabajo PARA ganar dinero.

2. To show who the recipient of an action is:

I bought these flowers for you.

Compré estas flores PARA t.

3. To show destination:

I am going to Spain.

Voy PARA Espaa.

4. When I want to say BY or FOR a SPECIFIC TIME.

I need your answer by Monday.

Necesito tu respuesta PARA el lunes.

These are all the instances when PARA is used. When do you use POR? In all the other cases. Just that! Any time you want to say something and doubt whether to say por or para, just go through this checklist mentally: a) IN ORDER TO b) RECIPIENT c) DESTINATION D) SPECIFIC TIME.

If what you want to express fits any of these possibilities, then the word to use is PARA. If it doesn’t, use POR.

Simple enough, right? I challenge you to try to find and do as many exercises on the Internet as possible and see for yourself how useful and accurate this approach is!

Enjoy!

On Line Sports Competitions Wagers — Introducing the Fundamentals

Friday, June 27th, 2008

All the top games in one place: Visit this Online Sportsbetting venue!

Link up both of men’s primary quests and you’ve got is a phenomenon that’s called a sportsbook. And seriously: what could be more inventive. If you envisage a bunch of fanatics rooting for their favored team, and more often than not wagers are guaranteed to be set along with the commotion. Enthusiastic to get some of the delights, on-lookers will customarily venture to anticipate who is most likely to win the coming fight. In the end, this will develop into a fun little fight called sportsbook.

To wager, you will probably want to search for a sportsbook, i.e. a place that tenders sportsbook. In the U.S., we have no less than four states where to do sports wagering in a lawful manner, but illegally you can try it anyplace assuming that you find a bookie AND happen to be legally an adult. Many of the track-and-field events you’ll have a choice of risking some money on are professional plus, beyond, college football & basketball, professional hockey, professional hockey, plus, beyond, wagers on both dog and horse racing. You might wager on the overall tally of a contest, when exactly the opponent will be vanquished, and even if a given tossed coin in a contest lands heads or tails.

There are normally so many varying types of antes- parlay bets, straight bets, where you have to determine the team you guess is the likeliest to prevail or be defeated, over/under lays, teaser lays, and many more, the straight being the general favorite in sports wagering.

Why not just do some test runs and enjoy yourself at one fell swoop. Only make certain that you won’t get seized and deplete your complete retirement income frivolously! If not, it’s likely you’ll catch yourself remorseful all life long!

Ambulance Transport Use When Really Needed

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Has anyone ever called an ambulance for you? Did you feel that you did not need the ambulance transport at that time? Did you feel that you could have been transported by private car or taxi? Did you feel you were not responsible for the bill? If you answered yes to any of these questions, read on.

When an ambulance is called for you by a family member or a complete stranger, you are the person that is responsible for the bill.

I worked in ambulance insurance billing for many years and this was the most fought question.

If you are suddenly taken ill or fall down and can’t get up and a friend or stranger calls an ambulance for you, you can refuse the transport. There will be a charge since the ambulance had been dispensed and the paramedics were already on the scene.

What people need to know is that an ambulance transport to the hospital is not free. As a matter of fact the transport cost varies during the twenty four hour day period. The cost is higher at night since the insurance costs for the ambulance is higher.

The ambulance transport usually takes the patient to the closest hospital. If the ambulance arrives at the hospital and they are waved away for numerous reasons, then the ambulance transport will continue on to another hospital.

An ambulance transport is extremely costly and medical insurance companies are very clever in finding ways to avoid paying this bill or making a partial payment.

If you do not have any medical insurance this bill will be over whelming for you to handle. Your ambulance bill is completely separate from the hospital bill.

If you need an ambulance by all means call one. 911 is an easy phone number to remember. An ambulance transport is there for you to save your life.

I hope you enjoyed my article. I hope you feel free to read my other articles. I would love to hear from you just leave a comment on this article.

Network Marketing Stories Sell: How to Tell Your Story Everyday to an Endless Number of Prospects

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Network Marketing success is easy when we tell our stories. Anybody
can tell a story. Children do it all the time. Facts tell, stories sell.

I could never be a singer because I could never remember the words. Jokes? There are not more than a couple in my bag after all these years. I have heard thousands.

It is not even easy for me to tell another’s story.

BUT, my story? I can you tell my stories any day of the
week. HOW’S THAT? Because I have lived them.

AND YOU CAN TOO!

Make money the easy way by telling YOUR story.

People LOVE stories. People love to share stories. But sometimes we need a door opener.

Learn and use what I am about to share with you. When you do, your business will become fun and profitable.

The more stories we tell, the more we “sell”. WITHOUT selling.

Here’s a great tip that makes it so natural and easy for you.

How many times a day do people ask you:

“How are you doing?”.

“How ya feeling?”

“How are you today?”

Rather than giving your typical answer, as most people do,

Just respond by saying, “I’m better now, Thank you.”

They might say, “Oh, I didn’t know you were sick.”
That opens up the door for you to tell “your story”.

e.g, “ohhh, I haven’t been sick, however, I’m better because, I
have been drinking this delicious tasting health product
and I….”

(now just tell your story)

or you could say,

“ohh I haven’t been sick, however, I’m better because, I am
now making as much money working from home part time as
I make fulltime at work…..or whatever “story” you have….

This works in person, on the phone and even with emails.

“How are you?” is the perfect companion for “What do you do?”
and your elevator speech, and “The Three Foot Rule”.

Use them all day long, where ever you are and you
will never run out of prospects to tell your story to.

Stories sell, especially when they are yours!

The experts say that the # 1 plan to success in Network Marketing is in: “How many people you talk to everyday and how many people those people know.

Now that is a simple plan when you tell your stories. Especially when they ask you, “How ya doing?”

If they don’t ask you…..GUESS WHAT? You just ask them and they probably will. :>)

Come back and give us a comment or two on how
this works for you.

Domain Transfer Information

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Determine where a domain name is currently hosted

Domain transfers are without a doubt one of the most confusing things to a domain name owner, especially if you’ve never done it before and you don’t have a clue as to where to start. Unfortunately; it’s a fact and I can’t make it easy for you. But I can try to ease it up a bit.

The first thing you need to do is determine where a domain name is currently hosted. To do this, I must do a whois search.

Go to one of the websites below:

http://betterwhois.com
http://allwhois.com
http://completewhois

For this example; I will use betterwhois.com. Type your domain name in the text box provided.

The whois database gives info about the registrant: administrative contact, the technical contact, and the billing contact; including addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. This is available to the public.

I want info about notreallyadomain.com for this example. This domain does not exist, so any information is for example purposes only.

This is what you will see:

Domain names in the .com, .net, and .org domains can now be registered with many different competing registrars. Go to http://www.internic.net for detailed information.

Domain Name: NOTREALLYADOMAIN.COM
Registrar: TUCOWS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net
Referral URL: http://domainhelp.tucows.com
Nameserver: NS1.NOTREALLYANAMESERVER.NET
Nameserver: NS2.NOTREALLYANAMESERVER.NET
Updated Date: 07-jan-2004
Creation Date: 08-mar-1997
Expiration Date: 08-mar-2006

The Registry database contains ONLY .COM, .NET, .ORG, .EDU domains and Registrars.

So, to break the whois search down:

Domain Name: The domain name you have inquired about

Registrar: The registrar the domain has been registered with

Whois Server: Who is database this information was pulled from.

Referral URL: The URL of the Registrar – who you need to contact in order to change the domain from one nameserver to the other, either by physically talking to them or using control panel access.

Primary Nameserver: The first nameserver the domain currently resides on.

Secondary Nameserver: The second nameserver the domain currently resides on.

Two nameservers are generally used, if the primary nameserver breaks; then the secondary can take over the primary nameserver duties until the primary is fixed.

Updated Date: When the whois record was last updated.

Creation Date: When the domain name was created.

Expiration Date When the domain name expires.

This domain was registered thru an Opensrs registrar/reseller. Scan the who is database; you will usually find the Registrar contact info. In this case; the info was towards the bottom:

Registration Service Provider: Domainmonger.com, service@domainmonger.com
+1.425-821-8032 http://www.domainmonger.com

I would then go to domainmonger.com.

Providing I have my userid and password; I could login and change my nameserver info, contact info or any number of functions.
Once I have changed my nameserver info, there is generally a propagation period as the internet as a whole updates with new DNS information.

For a new domain name, count on anywhere from 12 – 24 hours. For a domain name that is already in existence, and has already been moved, it can take anywhere from 12 – 72 hours. There is no definitive time, unfortunately. I’ve had domains propagate in a matter of hours, and I’ve had a couple take two weeks or more.

Recommendations to keep your domain name maintenance hassle-free:

Never use your domain name as part of your email address on your contact email for your whois record. Use a web-based email like Yahoo or Hotmail. If you experience any kind of issue, you’ll be emailed at your contact email, and if it’s your domain name and it’s broken, you’re out of luck.

Use yourself as a technical contact on your whois record. Use a second email address as well. Hosting companies do go out of business, and this could hinder your access should you want to move the domain name.

Keep track of the email addresses you use as contacts, the userids and passwords. Keep track of your domain name – when you ordered it, when it expires. If you let the domain name expire, your website will not be accessible through the domain name. Keep track of any userids/passwords associated with domain name maintenance.

Winclear :Is Internet History Stored On Phones With Atat

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Spyware has lots of side effects on the computer system. The major drawback is the deceleration of the computer system. This effect continues until the antispyware cleans the spyware. If individuals browse the internet for a longer period, there are possibilities of downloading some sorts of spyware into the PC, although accidentally. For this reason, the analysts known as spyware, arises without the knowledge of a user. It is legal software, since it gets downloaded in a computer system with the user’s permission. Besides producing a negative impact on relations with you child this also makes it harder for your offspring to compete with other children as the Internet these days gives certain social and academic advantages.

There are numerous free programs that can be downloaded. Generally speaking, most anti-spyware works like that. It scans the operating system in search for suspicious bits of code. An unexpected attack, over which you have no control, is a good reason why you should have anti-virus and anti-spyware protection. Data loggers, key loggers are just a few programs which harvest info from your computer. Winclear is the only program created specially to auto remove such spywares. Most probably right now when you’re reading this there’s some nasty file inside your Windows system doing its job. That is why every computer owner needs winclear.

Protect With Winclear :How To Delete Safari Internet History
However, because of Spector’s ease of use, it enables almost anyone to become a cyber criminal. According to Robert Graham, security executive at Atlanta based Errata Security, 99% of the people who download programs like Spector do not use it for legitimate reasons. Winclear is the only software which is capable of removing keylogger programs. Because they can be installed without your knowledge cookies can be installed by a third party from a website that is less than desirable. Winclear has been the industry leader in fighting keyloggers for the last 8 years.

The Trendy Universal Estate Marketplace — Assisted by Property Index Online

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

There are a range of properties in Spain for sale on Property Index, from villas to apartments.

Even though PropertyIndex.com is only a young corporation, set up only in March 2007, they were very quick to gain in reputation. They are a very hassle free corporation focusing on offering informed instructions to any person planning to sell, buy, rent, etc. property across the world. What they promise is to help you out light on just what you have called for very swiftly not to mention without pain. Real estate is at your fingertips across the world these days, arguably the hippest area being estate on the market in Spain. It’s no big deal to list the ripping property available in Spain, one rationale for selecting property here being a combination of the houses and apartments for sale and the opportunity to live right amid this exciting, passionate and vigorous population.

It is one of the truly trendy markets these days, and in view of the scenic beauty and the great sunshine surrounding you all the time, how could you say no! Real estate in Spain is immersed in culture, art and history, this part of the world has a long tradition as a home to a good many sophisticated cultures. Only 30 years back there was a mere trickle of Englishmen who are looking for property in Spain. Ask just about anyone who has removed to Spain and they’ll certainly back this up. Some people would label it a short-lived rage and others label it a that’s quite a fetish! People intending to move over here will range from yuppies looking for a challenge in life to the elderly who are looking to enjoy themselves and chill out.

Do bear in mind, though, that there could be quandaries when attempting to buy property abroad; expectably there are a hundred varied, complex, actions whether organising, inspecting or signing the documents. Even if one single step is missed that is sure to well provoke far-reaching quandaries as well as, most importantly, financial loss. As you’re sure to anticipate with this well-liked location, property might well be unbelievably high priced in this place and this, of course, is clearly on account of the growing buyer demand. In spite of this real estate buyers are spoilt for choice in an area so great in terms of shiny site and vista. Doubtlessly it’s able to offer the lot one may hunger for and lots more.
